Multiple people, including a child, are recovering after a rush-hour collision Thursday afternoon left a Winnipeg Transit bus crashed into the front of a home.

One person was taken to hospital in unstable condition, while seven others were in stable condition. The crash occurred around 5 p.m. in the area of Henderson Highway and Kimberly Avenue.

The president of ATU Local 1505, Romeo Ignacio, has told multiple media outlets that it's believed the driver of the bus suffered a medical event while driving which may have led to the crash. Ignacio says video footage still needs to be viewed however to determine the cause.

Southbound traffic on Henderson was blocked for several hours while emergency crews responded to the scene.
