Manitoba Hydro says that crews are quickly restoring power, and those still without can expect service soon.
Hydro says that a pole fire on Dugald Rd. was the cause of the outage which affected a widespread area of Saint Boniface and Transcona.
At one point in the morning, almost 20,000 people were without power. They now say just over 400 people are still in the dark.
They expect full service to be restored by 9:00 a.m.
Manitoba Hydro requests that all people without power report the outage by calling 204-480-5900.
#mboutage Transcona/St. Boniface: crews have confirmed it was a pole fire that caused this outage. Almost everyone restored. About 480 customers still affected, and crews expect full restoration by about 9 AM. Thanks for your patience this morning.
