A local family is asking for prayers for their daughter after learning what they thought was a sore leg turned out to be stage 4 bone cancer.

"On February 19 during the day she couldn't get out of her desk at school because her leg was sore," says Joyce Perreault, Phoenix's mother. That day everything changed for the family.

RZIM announces big changes to organization

Ravi Zacharias International Ministry has announced big changes to its operations, including laying off more than half its staff and relaunching the organization to support abuse victims.

The leadership of the organization made the announcement in an email obtained by Religion News Service, Charisma News reports.

In the Mar. 10 email, CEO Sarah Davis tells staff that RZIM cannot and should not continue to "operate as an organization in its present form."

International recognition for grandpa singing with chickens

A local farmer started videotaping some songs in the chicken coop for his grandkids, but now he's being recognized all the way to Italy.

Russell Loewen and his wife run a vegetable farm just five miles outside of Winnipeg, and they also have a chicken coop that doubles as his music studio. 

Raising chickens for five years, Loewen has recently found that when he sings a certain tone or pitch, he can make the chickens cackle loudly. He calls the hens his Morning Jabber Cackle Choir.
