After two years of running virtually, the annual Pro Sports and Faith Night returned as an in-person event with Kyrie Wilson, Jackson Jeffcoat and Mark Scheifele.

The event is in support of Lorne Korol, who is the chaplain for the Bombers, Jets and Moose. Together, the four speakers touched on topics about how spiritual life has grown in the teams. Korol was also praised for not only caring about the lives of the athletes but also of the office staff for the Jets and the Bombers.

MAVERICK CITY MUSIC AND DANTE BOWE PART WAYS

It took fans by surprise when Maverick City Music posted on Instagram that due to behaviour that was inconsistent with their core values, the band put a pause on their professional relationship with Dante Bowe. They encouraged fans to continue praying for Bowe as he keeps pursuing Christ.

The solo artist responded to the post on his own profile but deleted it almost immediately. 

Bowe is quoted as saying "I sincerely apologize for the impact of my behaviour and that it has offended many people on the platform we share together. This experience has been a very real reminder of the importance of being incredibly intentional with how I utilize and engage with the tools social platforms provide."

HERO TEEN BROTHER DIES SAVING SISTER'S LIFE

Tyler Phillips of Medford, New York was hit by an SUV on October 12 after saving his sister by pushing her out of the way. Unfortunately, Phillips could not recover from his injuries but his sister, who was still hit by the vehicle, made a full recovery.

"The car hit her first, and I guess he went to jump and grab her, and it just took him," Campbell, a family friend who witnessed the incident, told NBC4. "She said she watched him fly to the middle of the street, and she called an ambulance. They told her to give him CPR, and that was it."

NEW PASTOR REMINDS FAMILY OF GOD'S FAITHFULNESS

When Brian Wiebe was hired as the new pastor for River East Mennonite Church in Winnipeg, Rose Kauenhowen knew that he was the right fit for the position, little did she know why she had that feeling.

Due to an almost undetectable heart condition called dilated cardiomyopathy, Kauenhowen's husband Kennet passed away suddenly.

Wiebe heard the news and went to be with the family. It was their time together, her family and Wiebe, working through the stages of grief that helped her continue on with life, and continue living it with God at the centre.

In support of Child Abuse Awareness Day, on October 24, Duke the therapy dog from Toba Centre for Children and Youth was the lucky one for the ceremonial puck drop.

Adam Lowry wook the faceoff for the Jets, a very fitting match as he has become an ambassador for the Toba Centre. A $50,000 cheque was presented in front of the crowd.
