Washington, DC was treated to a monumental display last weekend when the entirety of the Bible was looped around the National Mall.

Over 400 volunteers and 3,333 panels combined to put the whole Word of God on display in Washington, DC.

But you didn't have to squint to read this biblical text; rather, the Bible was laid out in professionally painted illustrations, CBN News reported.

Ken McKenzie, CEO of the Museum of the Bible said that the display made up the world's longest Bible.

The beauty of illustrating the entire Bible comes through its accessibility. While many can't read, they can learn pictorally.

German painter Willy Wiedmann was the artist behind the lengthy biblical recreation. His son, Martin, explained that they had discovered his father's works only after his death, packed up in four large aluminum cases and hidden away in his attic.

Wiedmann spent 16 years creating the collection of paintings.

Unfortunately, Wiedmann had not been able to find a way to publish his 3,333 paintings during his lifetime. Now, you can view them proudly displayed at Washington's Museum of the Bible.
