A Winnipeg woman is hoping Manitobans will join her in praying for Manitoba's care homes, after being inspired by her 10-year-old daughter.

Rindalah Hijazi-Figueroa and her daughter, Carmela, were walking last week when Carmella went up to the walls of their local care home and started praying for everyone inside.

Rindalah says "God is calling every community, every city and town, every province, every country and nation to pray."

Manitoba care homes have been hit hard with COVID-19 outbreaks for the past few months. As the situation worsens, Rindalah believes prayer will play an important part in the fight.

She's asking Manitobans to go for walks on Saturdays and pray outside care homes in their neighbourhoods at 1 p.m.

"May God continue to rise up in our current and future generation for His purpose," she says.  "Be blessed and continue to be a blessing."
