Life had been good to Karen and Bob Krech. They had travelled the world as overseas teachers. They were blessed with a strong marriage, a nice house, great jobs, and a happy, healthy two-year-old son.

Things took a downward spiral when Karen became pregnant with their daughter. At just 23 weeks, Karen began experiencing some difficulties with the pregnancy and needed to deliver the baby.

Their daughter Faith was born weighing just 450 grams and was so small she could fit in her father's hand.

The doctor at the birth advised Karen and Bob to hold Faith and keep her warm until she passed on. But that's not where the story ends.

"We were in the NICU for four months and they were telling us she could have cerebral palsy. She could have retardation. She could have lung damage. She could have eye damage," Bob explained.

Instead, Bob says, she came out on just one medication.

"Now she's 28 years old, a three-sport athlete and a search engine optimizer for web companies. She's doing fantastically well," said Bob. "We feel it was a miracle from God!"

Today on Connections, Bob shares his family's journey and how their faith kept them strong through it all.
