Hundreds of students will make their way to Booth University College this morning to take part in the launch of a special event.

It's called Activate.

Over the course of a few hours, youth will track global food prices on their smart phones, and watch how natural disasters, volatile political situations and skyrocketing food costs converge to quickly plunge the world into “haves” and “have-nots”.

Cindy Mielke, Manager of Youth and Student Campaigns of World Vision Canada explains...

The program is also designed to encourage leadership and build awareness of how young Canadians can help fight poverty by participating and becoming advocates in this years 30 Hour Famine.

Activate will take place today from 9am to 2:30pm at Booth University College

All students are welcome to attend.
