Amy Grant is recovering after open-heart surgery on Wednesday, to fix a condition just recently discovered.

However, Grant has had the condition, called partial anomalous pulmonary venous return, since birth.

Her publicist, Velvet Kelm, tells the Associated Press it was discovered at a routine checkup.

Kelm says that Grant's doctors said the surgery “couldn’t have gone better.”

"The Queen of Christian pop" as Grant has been known, has won six Grammy Awards and 22 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards, and had the first Christian album to go Platinum. She has been married to country superstar Vince Gill for 20 years.

In a post on her official Instagram account, thanking fans for their prayers, it says "Amy's heart surgery went well and she is recovering in the care of a great team of doctors."
