Some communities in southern Manitoba could set new records for all-time daytime highs on Monday.

Normal temperatures are expected for most of the week, but before they arrive we'll have one more blast of summer-like weather.

In Winnipeg, sunshine is expected with a high of 22 degrees. The daytime high record for Oct. 18 in the city was set in 1942 at 21.7 degrees. It will also be windy, with winds from the south at 30 km/h with gusts up to 50.

Overnight the winds will shift from the north bringing cooler temperatures into the region for the rest of the week. Tuesday will likely hit double digits for one last time this week with a high of 10 degrees. From Wednesday into next week highs will be in the single digits, and overnight lows will be between -2 and -4.

Average highs for this time of year are 10.4 degrees and the average overnight low is -0.6 degrees.
