A person suspected of tampering with a fence that surrounds an Alberta church that's been closed amid charges it refused to follow COVID-19 health orders has been arrested.

Police say yesterday morning, officers located a person outside GraceLife Church who they allege was one of the people involved with mischief and obstruction to the fence last week.

A section of the perimeter fence was pulled down during a demonstration outside the Parkland County church on April 11, but RCMP immediately intervened and put the fence back up.

Police say the person was released with conditions that include staying away from the church's property and will appear in Stony Plain provincial court on June 30.
