The City says that after closing due to dangerous coyote activity, visitors can now return to an urban forest in Winnipeg.

On June 14, a large part of the Assiniboine Forest was closed to visitors after multiple reports of dangerous coyote activity, including stalking.

Today, the forest has reopened to visitors.

"Visitors are reminded to be vigilant in observing their surroundings and advised that all dogs must be kept on-leash," the city says in a statement.

They ask that if a visitor spots a coyote acting aggressively or oddly to report it to the Province by calling 1-800-782-0076.
