The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have tallied another win, 30-9, against the BC Lions, and improved to a 7-1 record this season.

The last time the Bombers were 7-1 was back in 2011 when they won the Eastern Division but fell in the 99th Grey Cup to the BC Lions. The Bombers now have a 5-game win streak.

The big story on offence was QB Zach Collaros, gathering an eye-popping 417 passing yards, as well as an 84.4 per cent completion. To put that in perspective, Collaros hadn’t reached the 300-yard mark this year before this game. Combine that with two touchdowns and no interceptions, and you have what could possibly be Collaros’ best performance to date.

Defence performed exceptionally well, with the triangle of Jackson Jeffcoat, Willie Jefferson, and Adam Bighill all picking up sacks. Mike Jones had the sole interception picking off Nathan Rourke in the endzone.

This was yet another game where the Bomber defence kept the opposing team from scoring a single touchdown all game. The win all but confirms it’s a two-horse race in the Western Division between the Bombers and the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The Bombers will try to improve to 8-1 next week as they host the Edmonton Elks on October 8 at IG Field.
