Carberry fire out after 20 homes evacuated, 1 destroyed

Manitoba RCMP say a large grassfire west of Carberry yesterday that forced the evacuation of about 20 homes in the area is out.

Mounties say people have since been allowed to return to their properties.

One house was destroyed by the flames.

Officials say the fire broke out in the afternoon and spread quickly due to dry and windy conditions.
