The annual Change Happens radiothon on CHVN in support of Siloam Mission was a huge success.

For three days we shared stories of the invaluable work of Siloam Mission, and CHVN listeners responded in droves. 

When all was said and done a total of $82,982.40 was raised over the 72 hours. But it's not too late to donate! You can make an online contribution through the entire Thanksgiving weekend.

Day 3 (FINAL DAY)

The final day of the Change Happens Radiothon started off at $41,494.53 and with another Super Lube Auto Centres donation of $5000 towards matching donations.

At 7:30 a.m., Emergent Biosolutions came in to add $2500 to the match. Emergent Biosolutions is a part of the backpack program that provides goodie bags on Christmas morning for the guests at Siloam Mission. They love the Mission so much, they wanted to contribute even more.

We also had the Nature Tots from Assiniboine Park drop off their harvest for the year. Three to five-year-olds grew the garden during the year.

People have gone above and beyond in their generosity, giving cheerfully. Little Elijah stopped by with a $9.00 donation from his piggy bank.

Winnipeg youth worker, pastor, and hip-hop artist Troy Lydiate (AKA Scribe) stopped by and shared his heart for vulnerable people.

We ended up raising twice as much money on the final day as we had in the previous two days combined. A big thank you to the amazing CHVN community!

Day 2

Day 2 was one filled with generosity from listeners as well as sponsors!

For the second day in a row, Super Lube Auto Centres donated $5,000.00 towards matching donations. By noon the totals reached just shy of $30,000.00. In the afternoon Hi Tech Installations stepped up with another $5,000.00 towards matching donations.

Paddy Quiring, who just returned from a 6,211 kilometre trip walk, run and cycle across Canada. Only one week after returning form the cross-country trip, she ran a marathon in support of Siloam Mission.

Danny Kleinsasser from Danny's Whole Hog stopped by again, as well, and this time he brought a friend. Shauna Lowe is an outdoor enthusiast, well known throughout Manitoba. She and Danny teamed up, selling Danny's Own barbeque sauce, and stopped by today to donate all the proceeds to Siloam Mission.

Earlier in the day we stopped by the brand new dining hall that's about to open at Siloam.

We ended Day 2 at a total of $41,154.75 

Day 1

CEO Jim Bell and CHVN's Mike Thom kicked things off this morning talking not just about the great work of Siloam, but its similarities to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Bell worked for over a decade with Winnipeg's CFL team, and he said one thing he noticed was it was all about community. The Bombers' fans care deeply about the team, and everywhere he went, he said, people stopped him to talk to him about the team and encourage him. It's the same now that he works for Manitoba's biggest mission. People not only love Siloam but the people that use its services find a real community among others.

Jordan St. Cyr also stopped by, encouraging Manitobans to donate.

He performed his single "Victory" live on-air, and then we debuted his brand new single, "In My Lifetime." 

We ended Day 1 at a total of $18,144.09! You can still donate online all night long.
