Organizers of a family event are working closely with health officials to bring Manitoban families one last fun weekend of summer, and a free concert that includes Jordan St. Cyr & The Color.

Bhryden Doherty is the owner of Concerts on Request and the event coordinator for the Fun With Family Day coming up this Saturday at the family business, Our Farm Greenhouses.

While admission to the event is free, he says the annual event will have over 45 vendors to buy items from as well as food trucks.

There will be plenty of entertainment throughout the day as well. That includes performances from local musicians, beginning with CHVN artist Jake Fretz at 10 a.m.

Coming into the event attendees will be asked to register with staff as a precaution for potential COVID tracing. Doherty says physical distancing guidelines will also be followed at all times.

Tractor rides, rock hunting, balloon twisting, and a lot more fun for kids will also be running throughout the day.

The evening caps off with a big drive-in concert, featuring David Bracken, at 6:30 p.m., Jordan St.Cyr at 7 p.m., and The Color at 8 p.m.

Doherty says it was a challenge planning this year's event. "You never knew what you were going to get. But, primarily, my trust was in God. I knew that if He wanted us to do it then somehow, someway, He would provide a way, and He did that."

Our Farm Greenhouses is just a short drive from Winnipeg, at 31083 Mile 62 Rd N, Southport, MB.
