People across Canada are finding some pleasant surprises in their Canada Revenue Agency accounts, in the form of hundreds of dollars.
Twitter user @3rdPeriodSuits sent out a tweet last week alerting his followers that the CRA website now has a section called "uncashed cheques." He says when he clicked the link he found an uncashed cheque from 2017 worth $105.

My Account on the CRA website has a section of “uncashed cheques”.
Highly suggest checking to see if you’ve got any. I had 105 dollars from 2017.
The tweet quickly gained traction as others found money as well. One user found $665 from 2012.

Even the CRA got in on the fun on social media saying "We just want you to get the benefits and credits that you’re entitled to!"

The section is part of a new feature rolled out by the CRA spokesperson Etienne Biram tells CBC.
"In order to help taxpayers reclaim these long lost funds, we recently soft-launched this new feature to let taxpayers know if they have an uncashed cheque with the CRA," Biram says.
How to check for your own money
- Head to My Account on the CRA website and sign in.
- Find the 'related services' section once you've logged in.
- Scroll down and click the 'Uncashed cheques' link.
- If you have any they will each be displayed.
- You can then select a form to print off, sign, and re-upload to get the cheque reissued.
