CCM artist Francesca Battistelli will be acting a part in God's Not Dead: We the People coming out in the fall of 2021.

Known for hit singles like 'He Knows My Name,' 'Holy Spirit,' and 'Defender', Battistelli can now add actress to her resume.

"This film is SO important, and I am honored to be a part of it! Our freedoms are God-given and worth fighting for," says Battistelli on her Facebook page the day the trailer was released.

In the Christian film, she'll play the role of a homeschooling mother and wife. The couple in the film's children are threatened to be taken away from them after a court deems they've been homeschooling the improper curriculum.

The original film in the series came out in 2014 with a second movie in 2016. God's Not Dead: A Light in Darkness was released in 2018, making this new film the fourth in the series.

According to the Christian Beat, the first film became one of the most profitable faith films with a $1.5MM budget and grossed over $65MM at the box office.

The Newsboys song that was featured on the first film called 'God's Not Dead' continues to be an anthem for the films.

"We feel honored to provide our faithful audience another installment in the God’s Not Dead franchise that provides a compelling, timely, and convicting message," says Pinnacle Peak Pictures founding partner Michael Scott.

Pinnacle Peak Pictures was formerly Pure Flix Entertainment.

While the release date is yet to be announced, the film will be available to view in the fall of 2021.
