The union that represents City of Winnipeg employees has sent a letter to the mayor and council alleging inaction over complaints of racism, bullying, and harassment.

Gord Delbridge, president of CUPE Local 500, says the situation has led to what he calls a toxic workplace.

He says the union has filed grievances against the city over human rights issues and respectful workplace concerns.

Mayor Brian Bowman says some of the concerns need to be properly investigated.
