The city of Winnipeg will begin their annual spring clean up on Tuesday, April 18.

At 7:00 am, city crews will begin the clean up operation that includes sweeping the entire street network across Winnipeg for five to six weeks. Crews will initially sweep the downtown areas, major streets, underpasses, and bridges.

"Be on the lookout for no parking signs and street cleaning equipment in your neigbourhood and remember to stay back and stay safe," Jim Berezowsky, manager of streets maintenance, said in a release today.

Clean up of boulevards in residential areas will be limited to areas where there is an excessive accumulation of sand.
