Compliments brand fresh-cut vegetable products have been recalled by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

The CFIA says that these Compliments brand products, which can be purchased at Sobeys, are being removed from the marketplace due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

The CFIA warns consumers against eating any of the recalled products at this time. Products include:

  • Compliments Green Beans, 340 g, UPC: 0 68820 10625 8
  • Compliments Power Green Blend, 284 g, UPC: 0 68820 13304 9

All affected products have recall dates of and leading up to October 31, 2019.

Earlier this week, Compliments’s Sweet Kale Blend was recalled also due to possible Listeria monocytogenescontamination.

Consumers in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, and Saskatchewan are affected by the recall.

If you think you have become sick after consuming a recalled product, call your doctor.

Check to see if you have the recalled products in your home. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.

Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness.

Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk. Although infected pregnant women may experience only mild, flu-like symptoms, the infection can lead to premature delivery, infection of the newborn or even stillbirth. In severe cases of illness, people may die.
