The Winnipeg Jets have joined the Colorado Avalanche and Boston Bruins in round two of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Kyle Connor scored on a breakaway at 6:52 of the third overtime period to lift Winnipeg past Edmonton 4-3 Monday night at Bell MTS Place.

The Jets swept the best-of-seven North Division semifinal in four straight.

It was the third consecutive game that went into overtime and marked the first time Winnipeg swept a playoff series in franchise history.

Mark Scheifele's second goal of the game at 6:01 of the third period tied the score at 3-3.

Mason Appleton also scored for Winnipeg.

Connor McDavid, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Alex Chiasson replied for the Oilers who beat the Jets seven times in nine regular season games.
