After being hit by a vehicle during the afternoon last Thursday, a senior woman spent over a week in the hospital before she ultimately died because of her injuries.

On September 8, 2022, at approximately 2:30 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. A woman in her 90s was crossing Henderson Highway at Oakland Avenue between parked vehicles when she was struck by an oncoming vehicle.
An off-duty officer driving in the area responded to the scene and provided emergency medical care until emergency services arrived.
The woman was transported to the hospital in unstable condition, where her condition changed to critical.
On September 15, she succumbed to her injuries.
Investigators from the Traffic Division met with the driver and several witnesses. An investigation determined the collision was not criminal in nature.
