If you'll be outside of Winnipeg in Southern Manitoba this Canada Day, here are all the festivities planned.
Friday, June 30
- As part of Canada 150 celebrations, a special tree community celebration will be held at Emerson Centennial Park at 11 am. Trees have been planted and this event will have a First Nations component symbolizing growth, strength, sustainability, hope and peace.
Saturday, July 1 - CANADA DAY
- Altona – Events begin at 1:30. Free swimming, baseball, food trucks, inflatables, chalk drawing contest, kiddie carnival, free watermelon and rollkuchen at 6 pm, kids entertainment with Mr. Ken at 7 pm, 8 pm stage show with The Committee and fashion show, fireworks at 10:45 (approx.)
- Carman – free cake and swimming,
- Elm Creek – pancake breakfast, parade, slow pitch tournament, kids’ activities, antique threshing demonstration.
- Emerson – pancake breakfast, parade, free swimming, music, fireworks.
- Falcon Lake - camping, fireworks at dusk
- Gimli - live music, parade, fireworks
- Lac du Bonnet - pancake breakfast, midway rides, talent show, baseball, family fun zone, fireworks
- Mennonite Heritage Village - birthday cake, tours, fireworks
- Morden - Beach Blast includes sand castle competition, children’s scavenger hunt, food vendors, fireworks, downtown party with community Zumba, games café, birthday cake, cultural performances and live music.
- Morris – Morris and District Museum is serving coffee and dessert between 2 and 4 pm. Free admission.
- Portage la Prairie - pancake breakfast, entertainment, family fun, dunk tank, movie, fireworks
- Roseisle – waffle breakfast in the park by donation. Parade, Prairie Red Coats concert, tractor pull, kids activities, baseball, remote controlled plane demos, modified lawn tractor races, fireworks at 11.
- Selkirk - wak/run, geocaching, music, fireworks
- Stony Mountain - pancake breakfast, parade, hotdog lunch, community water fight, fireworks
- Winkler – Come to Bethel Heritage Park from 2 to 8 for children’s carnival and entertainment, birthday cake, and supper for $5. Entertainment by The Pylons and fiddling champ Patti Kustorock.
