An extreme cold warning has been issued across most of Manitoba

A very cold arctic ridge of high pressure will build into southwestern Manitoba from the Yukon tonight. Temperatures will plunge to the -30 neighbourhood tonight. Even with light winds, extreme wind chills of minus forty or colder will develop tonight and persist into Friday morning.

Risks are greater for young children, older adults, people with chronic illnesses, people working or exercising outside, and those who do not have proper shelter.
