The sight of a train speeding towards you is rarely something to get excited for unless you are Glen and Thomas Taylor.

Glen Taylor, 55, and Thomas (Tommy) Taylor, 13, are father and son model railroad enthusiasts. Glen has been a model railroad hobbyist for close to thirty years and is excited to teach his son the magic of model railroad.

“It’s a lifetime hobby”, said Glen Taylor.

The duo is currently creating a new train layout in the basement of their family home. They have had to dedicate many hours to their model railroad and share floor space with the washing machine, but are bonding over this niche hobby.

The Taylor’s are excited to attend the annual Spring Train Show that is hosted by the Winnipeg Model Railroad Club.

On April 1 and 2 at the Charleswood Legion located at 6003 Roblin Boulevard there will be a Model Railroad Convention. Admission at the door is a donation to the St. Amant Centre.
