Jekalyn Carr is the first woman artist to be inducted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame for gospel songwriting.

Since it began, the Songwriter's Hall of Fame has honoured and inducted 439 artists and writers, with only 31 of them being female.

The highly acclaimed event and gala was hosted by Jody Watley at the National Museum of Women In Arts, where Carr received the prestigious award.

"I had to take a moment to process His goodness shown toward us. Recently, I was inducted into the National Women Songwriter Hall of Fame. Then today, my 5th single, “Jehovah Jireh” topped the Billboard Gospel Airplay Chart as the #1 single in the country and #1 for the second week on the Mediabase chart," says Carr in a Facebook post.

Her latest single hitting the top spot makes for five number one hits before the age of 25.

Carr also recently joined up with Dante Bowe from Bethel Music, as well as Todd Dulaney in the single 'Make it Right.'

She will be hosting Gospel music's biggest awards evening, The Stellar Awards in Nashville on July 10.
