Environment Canada has issued a number of advisories as mild temperatures and high humidity has resulted in heavy fog throughout much of eastern Manitoba.

Dense fog patches continue to persist this morning over eastern portions of southern Manitoba, the weather agency says. The fog is expected to gradually dissipate later this morning into the early afternoon as a drier westerly flow enters the region.

Meteorologists warn that visibility "may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero."

Fog advisories are issued when near zero visibilities in fog are expected or occurring.
