This afternoon the Gospel Music Association (GMA) made a Facebook Live announcement of the Dove Award nominees for 2020. 

For King & Country received a total of five nominations, including Artist of the Year and Pop/Contemporary Song of the Year.

Joel Smallbone, one of the two frontmen of For King & Country, was part of the Live announcement video from his home in Nashville, TN. 

Zach Williams also received five nominations including Artist of the Year and Song of the Year for "Rescue Story". 

The surprise of the video announcement was three nominations going to Kanye West, previously a secular rapper. One of his nominations is for Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year for his album Jesus is King

Sinach, a Nigerian singer/songwriter, was nominated for three Dove Awards, including Song of the Year for the well-known number she wrote, "Way Maker".

Other nominations include Lauren Daigle, We the Kingdom, Jeremy Camp, Kirk Franklin, and Hillsong Worship.

The Dove Awards ceremony will be done digitally this year, due to the pandemic. It will be aired on October 30, broadcasting at 7:00 pm.
