Friday night was one spent honouring some of the biggest names in Christian music at the 2020 GMA Dove Awards.

Hosted by artists Terrian and Ellie Holcomb, the online awards show was live on Friday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. central.

For King and Country took home top honours, winning Artist of the Year at the 51st annual awards show. The Australian Christian pop duo also performed for the ceremony and won Short Form Video of the Year for God Only Knows.

The duo posted a video from the final night of their Together Again tour in Texas, thanking the Dove Awards for their win.

Lauren Daigle's Rescue won for Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year.

The song of the year was the much-adored Way Maker, written by Osinachi Kalu Okoro Egbu.

The Worship Recorded Song of the Year went "The Blessing (Live)," written by Kari Jobe Carnes, Cody Carnes, Chris Brown, and Steven Furtick. The song's recording was performed by Kari Jobe, Cody Carnes, and Elevation Worship.

Elevation Worship also took home the Spanish Album of the Year for Aleluya (En La Tierra).

Hillsong Worship received a few mentions, winning the Worship Album of the Year for Awake and Long Form Video of the Year.

The Contemporary Christian Artist of the Year award was won by Tauren Wells, who also captured the Pop/Contemporary Album of the year title with his album, Citizen of Heaven.

Kirk Franklin's Long Live Love won Contemporary Gospel Album of the year.

The Christmas/Special Event Album of the Year for his album, Christmas, went to Phil Wickham.

"This record was a blast to make from start to finish, and being a big fan of Christmas music, in general, this award is extra special for me," Wickham says, responding to his win in a Facebook post.

Zach Williams was named the Artist Songwriter of the Year and also won for Recorded Music Packaging alongside Tim Parker and Eric Brown for Rescue Story.

Kanye West had his moment at the Dove Awards as his latest faith-based music continued to win awards. On Friday, West's song Follow God won Rap/Hip Hop Recorded Song of the Year.

West gave thanks to God following his win.

"Praise God. Thank you so much Dove Awards. God continues to send encouragement. Good is winning, Things are changing. Praise God," West writes.

And Skillet claimed two Dove awards, including the Rock/Contemporary Album of the year and Rock/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year.

"Thank you GMA Dove Awards!," Skillet writes on their Facebook page.

"Such an honour for us and the panheads to continue to win these awards on our 11th studio album. Can’t wait for what’s next!"
