Golfers in Manitoba are hitting the links for some extra rounds thanks to unseasonably warm temperatures.

Daytime highs are expected to hit the teens or be close to them, over the next three days in southern Manitoba. That's prompted many golf courses that had originally shut down for the year to reopen for one last round.

Southside Golf Course just outside the city opened up on Thursday with temporary greens in place, and many others are opening from Friday through Sunday.

In a typical year, golfers are thankful if they get to golf up to Thanksgiving Day. This year many courses stayed open until the last weekend of October.

The year has been an unusually long one, with courses like Southside opening for golf in March. That means that golfers will have had the opportunity to golf in nine months out of this year - not bad for a province dubbed Manisnowba.

Finding a tee time may prove difficult, however, as many courses are already fully booked.

The expected high for Friday and Saturday is 13 degrees, and 12 degrees on Sunday. The average daytime high for this time of year is +3.
