Just two weeks after falling and breaking his pelvis, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter was back in church and teaching Sunday school on life after death. He says at his age and health conditions he's "at ease" with the thought of death and has assurance in life after death.

The Associated Press reports that Carter used a walker to make his way to the front of the sanctuary at Maranatha Baptist Church in the southwest Georgia town of Plains.

Carter fell and fractured his pelvis on October 21. He had also fallen shortly before that and required stitches above his left eye.

But his injuries couldn't hold him back, despite his family and secret service agents asking him to stay home and rest. Rev. Tony Lowden told the congregation “[Carter] is pouring out that you might see Christ while he is suffering."

At one point in the teaching, Carter told the congregation that despite our present circumstances, "every one of us can live a completely successful life" if we simply follow Jesus.

Over 400 people were in attendance to listen to the 39th President of the U.S.A. teach on eternity.

Carter has taught Sunday school at various churches since he was a teenager.
