A defensive back is praising God for having his back as he takes the next step in his career.

DeAundre Alford, a 24-year-old defensive back from Georgia, was signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2020, playing in 2021 with the team as they went on to win the Grey Cup. Now, he is being signed an NFL team in his home state: the Atlanta Falcons.

"Since I first touched a Football at the age of 7, my dream was to make it to the NFL. Through the pain, blood, sweat, and tears I persevered. I want to take this time to give All thanks to God. Without God, none of this would be possible," Alford tweets.

Thanking parents, family, peers, and fans, the player says "dreams do come true."
