Fresh IE's refreshed Winnipeg Blue Bombers pump-up track scores a 'W'

An acclaimed Winnipeg hip-hop artist is taking on the role of hype-man for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Juno award winner and Grammy nominee Fresh IE is back with another bombers-inspired track, an updated version of "For the W, but this time it is the "2021 Western Final Edition".

"It is just a song to celebrate and stand with our team. You know how important it is as fans to let our voice be heard in support of our teams. This is my contribution, like being part of the team, is to be able to use my gift to inspire everybody to get behind our team."

The new tune will be heard in Blue Bombers promo videos, including on the jumbo screen.

Fresh IE has been taking friendly jabs at the Saskatchewan RoughRiders with his friends and is glad to one-up them with his latest track.

"Let's go for that cup back-to-back," he says. "It is all fun and competitive but it is all in fun; it is all in the name of fun and sports."

The new track will be available to stream and online, including on Fresh IE's social media.

Fresh IE has been working on new Christian music, set to be released in January.
