Two men are facing charges after the former band office in Gods Lake Narrows was set on fire.
At around 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 23, RCMP responded to a report of two males causing a disturbance at the former band office. It was also reported that a man was armed with a weapon and threatening to start the office on fire.
Officers headed to the scene where they found smoke already coming from the building. Fire crews were called and the blaze was extinguished. The building, which was a supply storage site and contained historical records, is considered a complete loss.
RCMP were able to identify and arrest two suspects, a 39-year-old man from Gods Lake Narrows and a 45-year-old man from Crane River First Nation.
The investigation continues.
