RCMP Manitoba is laying charges against two young adults in the death of a toddler.

A 21-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man are both facing a charge of Fail to Provide Necessaries of Life. This is in relation to the death of a three-year-old boy in Little Grand Rapids on August 23, 2018. They were the child's temporary guardians at the time of his death.

RCMP Manitoba has not released the cause of death of the three-year-old, only limited information of when he arrived at a nursing station. At approximately 3:40 p.m. on August 23, the boy was brought to the nursing station from his home and was pronounced deceased. At the time an autopsy was conducted.

The pair was arrested and charged by  Major Crime Services on March 10. They have since been released.

The suspects will appear in court on April 21 in Little Grand Rapids.
