RCMP Manitoba says a large fire still burning a day and a half later is creating a significant financial loss for the farmers.

The blaze began Thursday morning, creating a large cloud of smoke in the area in the RM of Stanley. Arriving at the structure fire on Road 24 West at 9:35 a.m. Pembina Valley RCMP says fire departments from many other municipalities attended to aid in the two-structure fire.

The Winkler Fire Department as well as Altona, Dominion City and Morden attended. Local residents with loaders and tankers also joined the blaze battle.

Approximately 15,000 bales in the two large hay shacks are destroyed. RCMP Manitoba says this is a  significant financial loss for the owners.

RCMP Manitoba says the fire is believed to not be suspicious and there have been no injuries. 

Pembina Valley RCMP along with the Office of the Fire Commissioner are investigating.
