Parts of eastern Manitoba will continue to see more snow Monday, after already receiving over 20 cm in some areas on Sunday.

Environment Canada says a snow squall warning remains in effect for Berens River and Bloodvein.

Meteorologists say that visibility will be significantly reduced at times, and it's expected that snow will quickly accumulate.

The snow should begin to taper off late Monday.

From Environment Canada:

Persistent snow squalls are expected. Under the snow squall bands, visibilities will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow, and snow will quickly accumulate.

Lake Winnipeg North Basin snow squall activity continues, as cold northwest winds blow over the relatively warm waters of the lake. These squalls are occurring southeastward off the lake, primarily into the Berens River and Bloodvein areas.

The snow squalls will finally ease later today as winds shift more to the west and weaken.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. For information on emergency plans and kits go to http://www.getprepared.gc.ca.

Snow squall warnings are issued when bands of snow form that produce intense accumulating snow or near zero visibilities.
