Traffic is flowing once again on a highway just north of Winnipeg after a serious collision Monday evening shut it down for several hours.

Manitoba Infrastructure sent out a notice just after 11 p.m. that Highway 8 was closed at Highway 27.

The closure, near the St. Andrew's Airport, remained in place for just over five hours, reopening at 4:15 a.m.

There are not many details at this time, including how many vehicles were involved or the extent of any injuries.

STARS Air Ambulance was also dispatched to the same area around the time of the closure.

More to come.
