Christian artist known as Hollyn is giving her fans a glimpse of why she hasn't released any music in a long time.

Hollyn has been featured with the likes of Tauren Wells, TobyMac, and Derek Minor.

This year the young artist turned 24 in January, but she started her career long ago.

In 2013, Hollyn appeared on season 12 of American Idol, where she made it to the Hollywood week rounds before she was eliminated.

In 2017 she put out her first and only full-length album, called One-Way Conversations. Since then the only single to be released was in June of 2020, called 'To the Moon'.

"I just want to say the most sincere “thank you” to everyone who has encouraged me on this platform over the last however many years," Hollyn posted on Instagram on March 20.

"When it comes to my art, I haven’t released anything in a while for personal reasons. it hasn’t felt right yet. I’ve been letting deeper things have priority so I can be present in every moment - particularity the ones where I am “holly”, not pressured to a schedule or to continue to perform even when there isn’t an audience."

Hollyn didn't give away too many details on her time away from the spotlight.

"I believe that who we are the 23hrs away from a microphone is what makes the difference. I’ll expand on that later."

The post is clear for fans that this isn't the end of her musical career, rather than a refocusing.

"I have a lot I’d like to say about where I’m going and where I’ve been, but it’s not quite time yet. I can say in confidence, that it will be worth the wait."
