Homes For Heroes Foundation started in order to address the growing issue of homelessness amongst the Canadian veteran community.
The foundation started with the concept that they would build affordable housing with a community of peers; giving residents a place where they feel supported and engaged.
They've developed the plan to include an individualized support network to assist residents in transitioning back into their communities including mentoring, case management, counselling, and linkage to other programs and services.
The founders say they've received a ton of support from businesses & residents across Canada and look forward to your continued support in achieving our goal to build 20 of these tiny communities across Canada with the ultimate goal to end homelessness in the Canadian veteran community.
They opened their first village in Calgary in November 2019.
