About 715 hydro customers in the Altona-area have been left without power this afternoon following a quick severe storm that rolled through the area over the lunch hour.

According to a Manitoba Hydro Twitter post, there are reports of fallen trees on a power line. Hydro hopes to have service restored by 3 p.m.

Meantime, Altona Rhineland Emergency Services was called out over the Noon hour.

According to fire chief, Greg Zimmerman, a wind gust blew a backyard trampoline on Elmcrest, located in the southeast part of town, into some hydro lines, knocking out power to the neighbourhood.

Zimmerman says the trampoline then fell down and hooked on to some nearby phone lines.

No damage or injuries are reported.
