Many Manitobans are without power Friday due to the heavy wet snowfall that started Wednesday evening.

"Today we’re working on restoring power to scattered outages caused by heavy snow across the province," says Manitoba Hydro in a tweet. "We hope to have power restored to all customers by late today, depending on road conditions and whether we find additional damage."

Manitoba Hydro hasn't given a number of homes experiencing blackouts, however, there are many cities and towns affected by the storm.

Power outages were reported as far north as Hodgson, as far east as Falcon Lake, as far west as Gladstone, and right along the Manitoba/U.S.A border.

For anyone experiencing a power failure, Manitoba Hydro asks people to contact them at www.hydro.mb.ca/outages.

A few hours prior Hydro stated that the conditions were worse than originally anticipated and therefore called in more crews to help out.
