Christian band I AM THEY recently had their lead female vocalist leave the band, and now they are hanging up their guitars for good.

"So much to say…but for starters - our hearts are full," says the band on Instagram, September 26. "Full of love for all of you. Full of thanks for all God has done and continues to do. It has been an incredible journey together."

I AM THEY started off singing during a praise and worship night in 2008 and before they knew it, the band shares they felt called into full-time ministry through singing and songwriting.

"God’s dreams for us are always greater than our own and we trust that now more than ever. Our story has never been conventional, but our prayer is that it will continue to be devotional. That the banner over our lives and the identity that we each carry forward - whether on or off a stage - would be “They.” That our pursuit would continue to be Him and Him alone."

Although they changed members throughout the 14 years, at the end I AM THEY consisted of Matt Hein (vocals, guitar), Abbie Parker, (vocals), Brandon Chase (vocals, guitar), Justin Shinn (keys) and Nicole Hickman (drums).

"We love you dearly and again are so incredibly thankful for your prayers, kindness, support, love, grace as we step into what God has next!"

I AM THEY is finishing up their final tour, The In Between, with one last show in Battle Creek, Michigan on November 12.

Other Christian artists wished the band farewell on Instagram including Cade Thompson, CAIN, and David Leonard, to name a few.

"Proud to you guys following God in all of it," says We Are Messengers. "Finishing well. May God swing doors wide open for each of you."
