A group of students from a pair of inner city campuses are preparing to head out on a special missions trip.

On March 20th, seven youth from St. Aidan's Christian School, will hop on a plane and travel to Mexico where they will build homes for people in need.

Peter Lurvey, Principal at St. Aidan's Christian School, says St. Aidan's is an every nations school in the heart of the city. He says they have two campuses, one in the North End, the other in downtown Winnipeg. A total of 80 children attend the school.

Lurvey says they work mainly with students who may be at risk for gang life or dropping out of school. He says they also work with newcomers and refugees.

Lurvey says this trip gives the kids something to look forward to...

Jussy, who is now seventeen years old, came to Winnipeg from Columbia about eight years ago. She talks a bit about why she decided to take part in the trip.

Patrick, another one of the students taking part in the trip, talks about what he is most excited about...

In order to make this mission a reality, the students need to raise enough money to pay for their trip.

Those interested in helping out are asked to call the school at 204-944-9674.
