An Irish pastor is leaning on God and sharing his journey through COVID-19 via social media.

Pastor Mark McClurg of Ards Elim Church in Northern Ireland announced he was hospitalized in the UK with coronavirus on Twitter on Tuesday, March 24, 2020.

Rather than complain or worry about his condition, McClurg shares his experiences to share the love of God and the hard work of essential workers around him.

"As I lie in the ICU Ulster I'm amazed by the hard work and love of the staff," McClurg says.

"They watch over me 24/7. So pray for them 24/7."

McClurg tells his online followers to stay home and pray over the pandemic.

"To everyone that is praying for me, every prayer is being heard, Jesus is Lord and Saviour," says McClurg.

In another post, the pastor redirected attention to the essential workers around him, posting a video of a Brazilian doctor singing a worship song.

"Pray for the staff saving lives all over the world," the pastor says.

McClurg also posted a worship song he says is helping him get through his illness.

"I have been struggling to breathe with this Coronavirus. But I have been listening non-stop to this worship song "Unstoppable God" by Sanctus Real," says McClurg.

"It has lifted my soul as coronavirus attacked my lungs. Where does my help come, my help comes from the Lord."

Throughout his three-week long hospitalization, McClurg has kept constant positivity, sharing these thoughts online to help others who are in prayer for him and who may also be struggling with the ramifications of COVID-19.

7 hours ago, McClurg posted that he is finally home with his wife and three children.

"After nearly three weeks away from my loving family, I am so pleased to be home again," McClurg says,

The pastor thanks all the staff who cared for him during his time in the ICU and his church family for their prayers.

"I would like to thank Jesus for healing my body," McClurg says.

He encourages everyone to continue to share hope during this uncertain time.

"Let's get more people to see their families. Be kind," the pastor says.
