A Winnipeg football team's re-signing a defensive tackle is making that player the longest-serving player on the team.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers say they have extended Jake Thomas' contract by one year, making him the longest-serving Winnipeg Blue Bombers player on the team.
Bob Cameron holds the all-time title, playing for the team for 22 years.

"Thomas has recorded 129 defensive tackles, 22 sacks, three forced fumbles and one interception in 151 games played throughout his nine seasons with Winnipeg," the Bombers say in a statement. "In 2021, Thomas recorded four sacks and 15 defensive tackles in 14 regular-season games."
The New Brunswick man was first signed to the 2012 season; picked 29th overall at 22-years-old. Now 32, he has spent his entire career with the Bombers.
He was set to become a free agent in February before being re-signed.
An earlier edit said Jake Thomas was the longest-serving member in Winnipeg Blue Bombers history. This has since been corrected.
