Jeremy Harder is proving what some extra time on his hands and a love for hockey can do.

Harder transformed his basement into the old Winnipeg Jets arena.

Complete with a picture of the Queen and an old-style scoreboard, Hader took inspiration from the once-home of the Winnipeg Jets, the Winnipeg Arena which was demolished in 2006.

When first arriving in the home, Harder noticed that his basement needed some attention.

"I needed a way for the boys to let off some steam. What better way to do that than play some hockey?"

The fan started by painting a centre-ice logo in the basement while upset over the score of a Jets game. The mini-stick arena soon came into play.

During hockey season, Harder and his sons will play up to three hours a day together.

"The games get so intense that we only play for 15 minutes at a time because it is pretty exhausting," he says.

Harder's family and other Jets fans enjoy the arena, but Harder is not done yet.

"I am thankful for (suggestions to improve)," Harder says. "In one picture you notice a plumbing stack... I got a really good idea on Twitter to make him a referee."

Harder says that he thinks the project will never be done but is enjoying doing it. His next task is adding fans to the arena by adding a mural of fans at the old Winnipeg Arena.
