Winnipeg Jets training camp is over for Manitoban Cole Kehler.

The Jets released the 23-year-old Altona product from his professional tryout on Monday.

Kehler was one of five goaltenders at camp.

Number one netminder Connor Hellebuyck along with Laurent Brossoit and Eric Comrie will continue preparing for the upcoming season while Mikhail Berdin was reassigned to the American Hockey League’s Manitoba Moose.

Kehler, who signed a three-year entry level contract the Los Angeles Kings in December of 2017, played 31 games with the ECHL’s Fort Wayne Comets last season and recorded a 3.05 goals against average and a .901 save percentage. He had a 14-10-4 record and a pair of shutouts with the Comets.

Winnipeg will play its 2020-21 season opener Thursday against the Calgary Flames at Bell MTS Place.
