RCMP Manitoba is sharing the highlights of an investigation that led them to take down a grow-op in the R.M. of Tache.

Approximately 500 cannabis plants were found inside a home on Thursday. RCMP Manitoba says a joint operation between officers in Steinbach, the Steinbach General Investigative Section (GIS), and the East District Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team (CREST) executed a search warrant under the Cannabis Act.

Along with the hundreds of plants in various growing stages, they found over 84 kilograms of dried cannabis.

Two Winnipeg men, aged 32 and 34, are facing charges and were arrested at the scene.

They are set to appear in Steinbach court on May 27 for the charges including Possessing Illicit Cannabis, Possess Cannabis for Purpose of Selling, Cultivate Cannabis plants and Cultivating more than 4 Cannabis Plants.
